Happy 10 year

Can you tell we needed to get away. I wish it was longer! One day just isn't enough. It was our 10 year anniversary on Jan. 16th. Cody's parents came into town and watched the kids. It was so sweet! We took a MUCH needed break...
This was like our room at the tower suite in the Little America Hotel. There was a huge fireplace in the lobby that we went and hung out by and explored the hotel shops. We went to the pool and Cody stayed up to watch a movie (I tried to stay up but fell asleep within the first ten minutes! Oh well)

We went to Fleming's for dinner and got all dressed up. I got the softest silk dress from Express, I felt so comfy, but it such a cute dress. They even took our picture and gave us chocolate covered strawberries to go. I tried to take a picture of the picture to post but it was turning out terribly so oh well!
Happy anniversary Cody! I love you!

christmas misc

The kids and their new Christmas jammies- I have to admit I am a new jammie girl. I always get them new ones so of course they have to have some for the season! soft and cozy
Jaden by his Christmas tree in his new jammies!

Here is me and Nicole at our ballet performance! We laughed so much in these costumes- yea we are forest trees. We just stood there and didn't move for a reindeer dance. We were maids for the other part. I was a little elf and a fairy when I was little so it was fun to see all the kids dancing

Here we are in Heber going to the polar express. The kids had fun. Cody thought it was some kind of punishment and was expecting the ride to be just like the movie- He got train sick a little and the kids were irritable. So that was a one time experience for us. Next time we will try the tube n' train.

Merry Christmas!

The questions

Welcome to the Christmas edition of getting to know your family and friends. Okay, here's what you're supposed to do, and try not to be a SCROOGE!!! Just copy (not forward) this and paste into a new blog post. Change all the answers so that they apply to you. 'Tis the Season to be jolly!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? gift bags, but wrapping paper is cheaper. Cody's parents used to only have santa wrap his gifts, all the others were unwrapped...
2.Real tree or Artificial?
Mine is artificial because of the convienience, but Bre has a real one and it smells so fresh and delicious

3. When do you put up the tree? I try to start the day after thanksgiving, next year I think we will try to get the outdoor stuff up the second week in Nov. so we don't have so much to do...My main tree still needs decorating- I have had that nasty cold so not enough energy.

4. When do you take the tree down ? A week after Christmas is the goal.

5. Do you like eggnog? Oh yea, but I am trying to get rid of my junk and get nice muscles so I haven't had any yet.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? How sad I can't remember! I remember my cousin got an easy bake oven and thought it was so cool

7. Hardest person to buy for? I think everyone, I would just as well give gift cards and go with them to hang out.

8. Easiest person to buy for? kids

9. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, I put it up last year for a week and the kids kept messing with it so I had to take it down- I love it- It's from costco
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? i've never done either

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? When I asked for the barbie doll "peaches and cream" "Santa" thought it would be funny to give me a can of peaches and a carton of cream! I didn't even get the doll!

12. Favorite Christmas movie? The Polar Express and the old charlie brown and rudolph the reindeer

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? last minute- I am in denial and hoping to get lots of money, this is the tight time of year. I should start saving up all year

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? oh yea chex mix and wassle were the famous things at our house
16. Lights on the tree? oh yes
17. Favorite Christmas song? The classics
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Stay Home. Maybe I would go somewhere the week before because it is cheaper and less people- oooh like disneyland...
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? dasher, dancer, prancer, vixon, comet, cupid, donner, blizten, rudolph, and OLIVE the other reindeer...
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? star
21. Open presents on Christmas Eve or morning? christmas day
22 . Most annoying thing about this time of the year? no money and crazy busy

where is the snow?

I am not complaining about the weather because I need to finish cutting back the perennials and clear the mini weeds that are still trying to come up. So maybe this is the only snow we get. The kids wanted to go outside at 0700 and of course that means mom has to go out too ya know (With little ones and no fence). It was fun though. We pulled out polar express and warm soup for lunch.
I explained to J about not eating yellow snow and why...

I realized Ashli needs new snow pants and gloves that aren't fleece

Everyone is starting to put up christmas lights and it just feels weird with such nice weather. That probably means I ought to hurry up and get it done too before the weather matches. We went to st. george to see Niki and her family. I took my camera in my purse and left my purse home so lot of good that did (Ang ha ha). Anyway it is not even jacket weather there and it feels weird too.

I finally had to drag them inside after they tramped all over the neighbors "new" snow. Sorry Jess! Didn't you all like to be the first one to walk through new snow? I did! So I was saying "GET OUT OF THEIR YARD!" well here is to more snowy days ahead and Happy Thanksgiving!

Halloweeeeenn

Oh I love October! There are so many fun things to do and you get to be someone else! This was Shaun and Patrea's murder mystery they have every year. It was tons of fun! Everyone had great costumes this year.
We went to a dinner murder mystery with shaun and patrea earlier in the month. It was a masquerade ball! I love getting dressed up! Lucky for me Cody just goes along with whatever I dress him in. One year he was a bug catcher and he still wore it! I love him! It makes it fun!

Thriller! This was our second year going- that little boy scared the breath right out of me! It was a fun night without the kids- yea

Ang and me (I know these are Angies pics but my camera was dead so she took all the pics and I wanted them too!)

These were the dancers outside. They were creepy!

Cody and me ready for the ball!

Jaden's batman costume with his "batman boots" He's so cute!

Me and the kids at Cody's work for trick or treating. What great weather this year!

Complete with fangs and all. These were fun costumes!
I can't wait until next October!
