Christmas cheer

Before I had kids I didn't even own a Christmas tree- I didn't want the hassle for just me. Now that we have little ones I love it! So I am making up for lost time!

This elf is so cute, he is up clear by the ceiling so you can't really see him. Jaden was trying to ride that sled before I got it up. Hurry before it breaks. I had Cody climbing walls to set up the display just so. He always has to put up my stuff- love him to death! He just smiles at me and says "ok kissy girl". :o)

This nativity set is awesome. It is a little cramped up here but I love it. Cody warned me that the kids would bug it and try to play with all the pieces. I wanted to try anyway- needless to say, after a battle everyday- I put in away. Until next year...boooo

I don't have my fireplace downstairs yet because we don't have anything finished down there, but I liked this idea.

Festive lighting just sets the mood. My version of mistletoe- mistleball. kissy kiss

We went to Gardner Village with the kids- how darling all the elves are and a ride with Mrs. Claus followed by hot chocolate and soup in the bakery made the night. It was freezing so it wasn't a long extravaganza, but long enough! Merry Christmas everyone!

tagged

I was tagged by Bethany and I will admit it took me a while to think of what to say...I have never been great at thinking up things really quick so I guess that can be my #1

2. Decorating is so fun for me. My favorite store for stuff is Tai Pan- I love it to death. I got tons of stuff for Christmas this year- we didn't put up Christmas stuff much until we moved here and then I went crazy! The pics above are the main tree, and the kids each have a tree in their rooms- it was so fun to do! Cody thought I was crazy, but it was enjoyable as long as the kids kept their hand off everything and taking the ornaments into the other rooms. You know the usual...

3. Although I love animals, I never want my own. I don't need the responsibility and mess and hair and feeling bad if they are left outside while I am gone, etc. So my kids will just have to play with everybody else's dogs and kitties and such. When I lived in Redmond, Cody found puppies in a barn. Who know where the mom went. We kept them for a few days and then had to have the pound come and pick them up. Luckily they were all adopted out, but I cried my eyes out and said "seeeee this is another reason I can't get animals" I become really attached!

4. Me and cooking are not friends! My sister Breanna cooks every night almost. I like to eat when other people make the food- Cody is a fabulous cook- I on the other hand am not. I don't like to cook and if I was a millionaire I would hire one in a heartbeat.

5. I have this habit of pulling my hair to feel the kinky ones- I do it when I am nervous especially I have noticed and then I have to make myself quit it. I also grit my teeth at night. (that explains some of my headaches)

6. I want a Honda Odyssey with DVD and leather! I want to pay cash for it. $30,000 to go! he he

finally one is working

This is late because everytime I went to post it wouldn't upload my pics for some reason so ok here is the kidlets in their costumes. mini princess. She has wings that bugged her to death so she wouldn't even wear them for a picture- oh well- this was a fun dress to make really girly- it was so boring and plain so I added all the pink fabulousness!
Jaden was "a scary indian!" He followed a kid wearing buzz lightyear all over so I think that would've been his best choice, but I had this costume from buying it last year sooo...I still love it with the headress! The best part is he kept it on. He loved trick or treating and wanted to talk to everyone at their houses and would leave saying "thankyou, have a nice day!" It was funny!

Jaden and Cody already into the pumpkin pie- mmmm! it is so yummy!

+

some of my fall decor- I can't wait to deck out for christmas! and here is little Ashli- it's funny how they can play on, in , or around something so small.

This is a bench where we can sit and put our shoes on. She played here for an hour or so, fine by me!

I hope you all have a good Thanksgiving. We are having it on Cody's side at a ward house in the gym- there are tons of people- it makes it nice- I am not a good cook! So lets try to not gain any weight because we will just have to get it back off. I am on another eat good mission! Anyone want to join me? Hey BTW, do you know of any fun places to take little kids?

Wheeler Farm adventure

Of course all boys love the wheeler farm tractors, he would look up for a milisecond so I could take his picture! We went on the tractor ride- Jaden loved it and so did I! When you have kids you get to redo fun childhood memories! It's great!

Ashli had a cheese stick I gave her for a snack and this goose came and took it out of her hand, she was stunned and then started to cry, it was so funny! I took the picture and then rescued her...I didn't realize they were that aggressive...well I just forgot! lol

Here we are at wheeler farm! The kids love to go and hate to leave (especially Jaden!)
Ashli enjoying the hard corn display! ha ha I love her jacket, it has soft fur inside- I want one...
p.s. I have Heather to thank for the fabulous new look- She is so awesome!

I am NOT the mom today!

Yes there is a story behind this disgusting picture so let me explain. This is Ashli's bottle , it had milk in it and luckily I think she was done with it just in time. You see, Jaden had an "akident" on the tile. Ashli found the interesting mess and started playing in it- she came up to me in the kitchen and I immediately knew (it's that sick, sinking feeling like what am I in for now?)...Yes in case you hadn't guessed- it is poo. Green because of spinach. Ashli had it all over her hands and shirt because she had tried to wipe it off. It was on her pants and socks. Jaden had in smeared down his legs and somehow even on his upper back- don't ask me how because that is still a mystery. I walked into my bathroom and he had been trying to clean it up so there were dirty wet wipes everywhere and poo smeared all over the toilet. As I walked in my shoes were crunching because of the chex cereal that Ashli had so gratefully dumped out in there.
After stripping both kids down, getting them in the bath, dressing them both, cloroxing the tub, doing their laundry, cleaning the bathroom (Cody came home in time to help with the bathroom- lucky timing), I was exhausted! I came in the kitchen to get a drink and some sugar. when I reached for her bottle to clean it, this is what I found...I just couldn't even believe it....so I took a picture and decided it would be an interesting story- And that my friends is all in a days work. Aagh the joys of being a mom!

Discovery gateway

Gassing up the car, sssssssssss
I took the kids to the museum(sounds boring but it's cool) for Jaden's 3rd birthday activity. It was our first time there and it was awesome. I thought it was so cool I bought a pass...I later had buyers remorse, so I have to use it now so I don't waste my money. It is just that you need to get up all your energy to pack the kids and the million items that go with them to drive dowtown and pay for parking and have to leave with them screaming because they want to sleep there. That kind of remorse- it is all part of the gig though. I realized I can't be cleaning or "doing something" all the time or before you know it, the kids all the sudden seem a little bit older than last time you checked. You know? Somedays I just have to remember to push slow on lifes remote and really watch them...

Hellloooo out there!

ok, Angie wanted me to create this blog. I keep saying yea yea ok. so I finally am attempting this before the kids wake up from their naps. I have two kids Jaden who just turned 3 yesterday
and Ashli who is 16 months. I am thinking about having one more but I have to have Cody in on it...which he is not...So maybe next year? We'll see. I married Cody Ahlquist (we both went to Murray High) and have been married for 9 years in January- that sounds long, but it has flown by! We live in WVC, Utah- the west side sounds bad, but we think it is fabulous so far. We built a home and just moved in this May, it is fun. We finally finished the front yard and now I can park in the garage for the first time ever- oh my who knew a garage could be so exciting? ha ha. I will post pics of our house- we did a lot of the work ourselves to save money.

We took the kids to raging waters a week before they put the ban on swimming. Jaden got so cold his lips were blue so we got in the hot tub. It was fun though

Here is Jaden and me at my sisters wedding- a little boy in a tux can't get any cuter!

Here is Cody and my little brother Darrin. Do you remember Cody? He has mellowed out...somedays...
Jaden was trying to play this piano and the reception place got irritated with him- just calm down people! He is the typical wild toddler of course.

Here is sissy cat Ashli I just love this swim suit! She got curls- from the grandparents I guess and her hair is getting lighter and lighter all the time. I am hoping for blond of course.

Here is my sister Jessica and my Jaden- he was the ring bearer and during the ceremony he said, "I have to go pottttyyyy!" Everyone laughed. It was cute.
Ashli just woke up so no more blogging for me...
We'll be talking to yall
