dad went out of town

This pic came up to the top so I will explain. Cody went out of town for 5 days. I feel for single parents out there! Anyway here he is when he got home, he was WAY jet lagged and was sick for the rest of the day- yuck but still kind of funny to me! He must have rubbed off on Ashli- they are both in the zone!


Things we did when he was gone- the kids painted their own nails while I was on the phone. lucky for me it didn't get anywhere...

So it was a fun day everyday, but we were glad for Cody to come home, especially me when the house is eeriely quiet and creaky...

mothers week

somehow these pics are out of order. oh well. Jaden is in preschool- it's so cute and I still can't believe it some days!

Anyway here is our conversation: I just picked him up from school and am driving home...

(me)Ashli, please get in your carseat, if that policeman pulls us over, mommy is in big trouble

(Ash) And you will die? And uh-I will go to another persons house to live?

(me) just get your buckles on- jaden please don't tease your sister!

(jaden) but mom I made you something...

and he gives me this little book that he colored in school and I open it up and instantly start crying and have to pull over the car because I can't see now and safely drive ha ha

(jaden) looking at me funny says, mom are you sad?

(me) no buddy, I am happy, sometimes moms cry when they are happy! thank you so much

(jaden) I love you mom...

(Ashli) love ya

Isn't it nice to get a reminder once in a while... the whole reason I am a mom...the simple things in life...and to cry over a beautiful paper booklet?

I love seeing the blossoms on the trees! It makes me happy. I went to womens conference in Provo, with cody's sisters and mom and had a blast. I hope this is a long lasting tradition. It makes you want to be a better person. Did anyone else go?

One thing I love about little kids is there imaginations, Jaden is a superhero! It's so funny how they can have one thing and play forever, He is so boyish!

Happy Valentines Day

The kids had fun getting a treat from Courtney in the mail! Look how festive Ashli is!

Cody and the kids came to my work and brought me roses and then we had lunch there!

I like flowers but I wish they lasted longer.

They got sooo messy doing this. I can't wait for summer- take the mess outside and hose them off! ha ha

This is rare folks so I had to take a pic. They are in the fighting stage I guess. They act like twins sometimes. Why can't they just love each other...Oh the joys! I love them dearly.

We also decorated the inside of Cody's car with tons of balloons and homemade heart and treats and a foot massage coupon from me. (which he hasn't used yet...) The kids had a blast but I didn't think to take a pic...

Happy 10 year

Can you tell we needed to get away. I wish it was longer! One day just isn't enough. It was our 10 year anniversary on Jan. 16th. Cody's parents came into town and watched the kids. It was so sweet! We took a MUCH needed break...

This was like our room at the tower suite in the Little America Hotel. There was a huge fireplace in the lobby that we went and hung out by and explored the hotel shops. We went to the pool and Cody stayed up to watch a movie (I tried to stay up but fell asleep within the first ten minutes! Oh well)

We went to Fleming's for dinner and got all dressed up. I got the softest silk dress from Express, I felt so comfy, but it such a cute dress. They even took our picture and gave us chocolate covered strawberries to go. I tried to take a picture of the picture to post but it was turning out terribly so oh well!

Happy anniversary Cody! I love you!
